Pretty, pretty, pretty! I love it, love the carpet, love the chair. I thing the blue would have been too much if you'd gone with a plainer carpet but it totally works with the oriental vibe.
So, of course Debbie and I have been taking about this and I like the idea of houndstooth check for the necessary curtains(though I also like the idea of a soft chenille champagne /gold curtain) --consider also making a small throw bolster in matching fabric for the chair (which BTW i also love).

Hum. Okay, in looking at the rug more I say scotch the gold but maybe a chenille gray?
As this is my office, and I don't know what "houndstooth", "chenille" or "throw bolster[s]" are, I'm going to have to say ... NO.
What this room needs is a college dorm fridge so I don't have to walk so far to get a cold drink.
How about some lace doilies and aspidistras?
Maybe some collectible kitty plates hanging on the wall.
